On April 14th, Prof. Rob Nosofsky received the Howard Crosby Warren Medal at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The Warren Medal is the oldest and one of the most important medals in psychology awards. It is endowed to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of experimental psychology during the previous five years. The awards committee's decision was based on his analyses of classification, concept formation, and category learning. Nosofsky has applied his models to issues of explicit and implicit classification, calling into question the need for the distinction. Nosofsky's program of research exemplifies the best applications of mathematical models to thorny empirical problems with successful resolution. [More about Professor Robert Nosofsky]
