My research investigates the development of children's cognitive skills and motivation, primarily in the domain of mathematics. I am particularly interested in the developmental processes and environmental factors that lead to individual differences in these skills and motivation. My work has examined a variety of topics, including the development of numerical and spatial skills; the development of anxieties, stereotypes, and motivation in these domains; and the role of parents and teachers in supporting children’s skills and motivation.
