Research

A strong research legacy

We are home to the oldest continuing psychology laboratory in America. Building on this legacy of research leadership, it is our goal today to understand how the entire brain-behavior system works—from molecular neuroscience to cognition to the social behavior of groups.

Our work is collaborative, interdisciplinary, cutting-edge, and internationally known. Always evidence-based, it combines insights and experimentation from both hard science and social science.

Unlocking the relationship between how the brain works and its effect on human behavior holds the potential to impact some of the worlds most pressing problems.

Faculty research

Members of our faculty continually seek to answer questions and develop new opportunities through innovative research and state-of-the art experimentation.

They also provide inspiration to thousands of students each year through classroom experiences and hands-on research opportunities. Our graduates go on to make discoveries of their own, causing a ripple effect that can last for generations.
