Add a second major to your PBS degree
Complete the Application to Change from a Single to a Double Major for the Ph.D. degree. You will be required to attach a goal statement.
Check with the department of the second major to see if they require any other paperwork in addition to the form mentioned above.
If you are adding a major other than Cognitive Science or Neuroscience, you will likely be required to go through an admission process involving an application, letters of recommendation, and so on. If this is required, and if the second department will accept the copies, the ASC can forward copies of your Ph.D. application materials to the 2nd department, upon request.
Obtain signatures of the faculty advisor in PBS, the faculty advisor or chair in the major you are adding (second major), and the PBS director of graduate studies, currently Dr. Karin James.
Return completed form(s) to the ASC in Psychology or to the office of the second major.
The completed form will be sent to the College of Arts and Sciences and from there it will go to the University Graduate School for final approval.
