Advising

Academic advising

Our advising team can help you understand degree requirements and select courses that fit your interests and career goals.

Advisors also help you get involved in co-curricular activities and experiential learning opportunities. They help you access campus career services, planning for a job search or graduate school.

If you just have a quick question for an advisor, you can email us at psyneuro@indiana.edu. Otherwise, you will need to make an advising appointment.

To schedule an advising appointment, please use the Student Appointment Scheduler in One.IU through the Student Appointment Scheduler task. If you would like to meet with an advisor before you register online, explore the Registrar’s Schedule of Classes to review your degree requirements and find classes. Bring a list of the classes you're considering, along with questions for your advisor to your appointment.

When preparing for an advising appointment

  1. Review your  Academic Advisement Report (AAR).
    Learn more
  2. Provide a detailed purpose for your appointment so we are better prepared for our meeting with you.
  3. Check in 10 minutes before your appointment.
If you are unable to attend  please cancel your appointment.
  4. Check if there are any holds on your student account.
Please note that some  can impact registration.
  5. Come prepared with any necessary/required forms, and be sure to fill out your portion of the form.
