Bio
Siyan is currently a graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Psychology. She received a B.S. in Neuroscience with minors in Psychology, Biology, and Philosophy and a concentration in Cognitive Science from Villanova University in 2023. While at Villanova University, she worked in a comparative cognition laboratory, studying cognitive processes in various animals, including laboratory rats, fish, bees, and humans. Using behavioral experiments, she examined episodic memory components in rats. She also worked in the cognitive neuroscience of memory laboratory, conducting human fNIRS research to unfold the brain areas contributing to the continued influence effect. In her spare time, Siyan enjoys walking outdoors, listening to electro-bands, and spending time with family and friends.
