Course Format: This course meets two days a week. You will be presented with a mix of lectures focusing on key aspects of methodology and research in social psychology and lab practice to learn and engage with R/RStudio for statistical analyses. In lieu of a cumulative final exam you will complete a research manuscript (assigned in sections over the term) and a 5-min recorded presentation. Learning Outcomes: Successful students will... ¿ Demonstrate an understanding of the main research methods and statistical tests used in social psychology. ¿ Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different research designs and methods in social psychology. ¿ Develop and test hypotheses related to social psychological phenomena through the use of empirical research methods. ¿ Analyze and interpret complex data sets using advanced statistical techniques and software. ¿ Write clear, concise, and compelling research reports that follow APA style guidelines. ¿ Effectively communicate research findings through oral and visual presentations to a diverse audience.
